Foreclosure Activity Has Skyrocketed in Maryland

July saw a huge 275% increase in foreclosure activity in Maryland.  What’s curious about this statistic is foreclosure rates for the larger DC metro area and the nation as a whole remained level.  It appears as the pre-foreclosure properties that were stuck in the court system in Maryland have begun to filter through.  Montgomery and Frederick Counties have seen the biggest surge.  While its unfortunate when someone loses their home, many of these properties have been vacant for years and now investors finally have the opportunity to get their hands on them and get them back on the market.
